Universal Children’s Day: Tuesday, November 20, 2018.

Somali Women Development Centre (SWDC) is very proud in celebrating Universal Children’s Day, established in 1954 this is a very Important day which is promoted togetherness and awareness among children and to improve the welfare of children in world wide. It is celebrated on 20th November each year. This event was held at IDPs Camps which focused on the theme: Children of today the keepers of tomorrow! The well- arranged event was conducted in 3 main selected IDPs sites located in Deyniile District among them being Bula warbo, Al futow and Alhidaya.  both direct and indirect beneficiaries celebrated the day, the main objective that the event was held in IDPs site is that most vulnerable children live there and most of the people at the IDPs don’t know about the importance of this Day and children’s rights.  total number of 400 beneficiaries participated 150 girls, 100 boys 100 women, 50 men.

SWDC believes that all children deserve a future, we work all the time to give children a healthy start in life and opportunity to learn and protection from harm.
